PaintingPianoPygmalion’s instructor / artist, Dixie Orriss was selected to paint a playable piano for the Keys for the City, A Street Piano Art Project for the St. Albert Cultivates the Arts Society in August.  Orriss had two weeks to paint the piano in a public venue at St. Albert Place and chose to paint a composite of Vincent Van Gogh paintings in acrylic.  Of course “Starry Night”, Vincent’s most popular painting had to be the focal point of the piano.

You can see the piano at the Arcadia Cafe and Bar in St. Albert until the end of September and will be moved to The Citadel Lobby in Edmonton while their play, “Two Pianos, Four Hands” is playing.

Anyone is welcome to go and play the piano while it is being displayed.
