ABOUT THE COMPANY
The Fashion House, Le Galeriste has been operating since 2010 and has been chosen by museums and art institutions around the world to produce highly safeguarded artworks on Montreal-made fashion products.
They also help living artists such as Orriss to help build her own ethical clothing brand with their 100% local production.
THE PRODUCTION OF THE PRODUCTS
Vegan fabrics are dyed-in-house with environment-friendly water-based inks. Focused on sustainability, they limit fabric waste to a bare minimum.
The production breaks away from traditional printing techniques that trap the prints within the natural boundaries imposed by the seams and edges of the garments. Instead, the threads are dyed using a sublimation technique applied to one product at a time for optimal colour balance. It is an intricate and complicated process but it ensures that the artwork will never fade. The feel of the fabric doesn’t alter as it has been custom-engineered for this specific production technique.
THE FABRICS
The technologies and machinery used in the production facility were first developed for high-end professional sports clothing. Performance wear polyester and spandex yarn reknitted for fashion is used for the fabric. All of the fabrics are vegan, moisture wicking and wrinkle free that is perfect for travelling.
